Gupta Prayag

When Shri Mahaprabhuji came to the Gupt Prayag, he stayed under a Peepal tree. He said to Shri Damodardas, “The actual name of this place is Prayagraj. There are three Kunds (or lakes) here – Shri Ganga Kund, Shri Yamuna Kund and Shri Saraswati Kund. The water of all these Kunds form a Triveni Sangam (or confluence) underground. Hence, this place is also known as Gupt Prayag. In this holy place, I will perform a Shrimad Bhagwat Parayana.” When they started the Shrimad Bhagwat Parayana, a Brahmin came there and said to Shri Mahaprabhuji, “Maharaj, I have been meditating upon You for many days and now the fruits of my efforts are in having Your darshan.”

Shri Mahaprabhuji asked him about his home place. He replied, “Maharaj, I was living in Pandharpur where I daily did a patha of the greatest scripture, Shrimad Bahgwatji. My efforts were rewarded when Shri Vitthalnathji became pleased with me and asked me for anything I wanted.” I requested, “My Lord, please allow me to have darshan of the Vrajlila as narrated in the “Dasham Skandha” of Shrimad Bhagwatji.” He said, “I don’t have the power to allow you this darshan on the earth. But, I give you my promise to fulfil your wish. So, you go and live in Gupt Prayag, where Shri Vallabhacharyaji will come. He will fulfil your wish.” Brahmin said, “He also said that he will inform me when You will come. Then last night he informed me about Your arrival. Hence, today I came to You. Please, fulfil my wish and give me salvation.”

Shri Mahaprabhuji said, “First, take a bath in Prayag Kund. Then listen to Shri Bhagavat Purana that I am reciting. At the end of the eighth day you will die and be reborn as Gopidas Gwala at the foothills of Shri Girirajji. My son Shri Vitthalnathji (Shri Gusaiji) will make you his sevak and will command you to do seva of the cows. Because of this seva, Shri Govardhan Nathji will allow you to have the darshan of Vrajlila.”

That Brahmin followed the order of Shri Mahaprabhuji and as promised, he did have darshan of Vrajlila in his next life.

In Gupt Prayag, Shri Mahaprabhuji gave salvation to many lives.
