On the banks of the river Ganga, on Ram Kund, is the Baithakji of Shri Mahaprabhuji.
Shri Mahaprabhuji came here in 1510 AD on a rather auspicious Kumbh Mela where the zodiac position of the planet Jupiter, the Sun and the Moon were particularly strong. Hundreds of thousands of people came to Haridwar to take a bath in the river Ganga.
Shri Mahaprabhuji also came to take a bath in the river Ganga. However, He noticed that there were still many thousands of people waiting to take the bath with only four hours left of the most auspicious time (murhurt) left. This worried Shri Mahaprabhuji as if the murhurt passed, then those who have the bath after this will not get the fruits of their pilgrimage. This will lessen their faith and they will start to disbelieve.
To resolve this, Shri Mahaprabhuji summoned Yoga Maya (the Lord’s power of illusion) and Kaal (the Lord’s power of time). To Yoga Maya, Shri Mahaprabhuji instructed to put all the people to sleep. To Kaal, Shri Mahaprabhuji instructed to stop time so the murhurt to take bath remained still. This enabled all the people to bathe in comfort and strengthened their faith.
When all the people awoke, they realised the miracle of Shri Mahaprabhuji that enable all of them to take the bath at the right time. Many having experienced His greatness, became His disciples.
Along with Shri Mahaprabhuji, were His disciples Damodardas Harsaniji, Krishnadas Meghan, Vasudev Chhadka, Madhav Bhatt Kashmiri, Govind Dave and other Vaishnvas.
Through this incident Shri Mahaprabhuji illustrated that wherever we go to the place of pilgrimage, we should go with faith and should perform Karma faithfully. If we do not have faith in our pilgrimage, then the result is not attained.
From here, Shri Mahaprabhuji moved towards Badrika Ashram.
