When Shri Mahaprabhuji came in this village, he stayed outside under a Chhokar tree on the banks of a beautiful pond. On the day of His arrival, a Brahmin came to meet Him in the evening and said, “Maharaj, There is a ghost staying on this tamarind tree. And that ghost does not allow anybody to stay around this area as he kills those who stay here after dark. Hence, it is not safe for You to spend the night here. So, please you come to the village for the evening.” When Shri Mahaprabhuji didn’t reply, that Brahmin left.
That evening, when Krushnadas Meghan was returning from washing his cloths, he saw the ghost. He informed Shri Mahaprabhuji, “Maharaj, that ghost is coming to You with folded hands, which indicates that he is requesting You for the salvation.” Shri Mahaprabhuji said, “Go to him and sprinkle some water of My Charanamrut on him.” Krushnadas Meghan followed His instruction and instantly that ghost got salvation.
Shri Gopaldasji has written this supernatural incident in “Shri Vallbhakhyan”:
Charan Chakhdi Vande Rano Raan [By taking the dust of your feet],
Saras thaya te Huta PretPashan [a ghost was instantly liberated].
Hatit Pratit nu juo tame pragat endhan [O Lord, you are so merciful],
Shesh Sahastra mukhe uchare jena vakhan [a treasure chest of bliss].
The next day, Shri Mahaprabhuji started Shri Bhagavat Purana here. He gave salvation to many divine lives during His stay in Khambhalia.
