Shri Mahaprabhuji took shelter under a shady peepal tree on the outskirts of the village. Shri Krishnadas Meghan asked him, “Maharaj, why is this place named after the Mulgomta river? Shri Mahaprabhuji explained, “All the pilgrim places on the earth are originally in Vaikunth (the heaven) in the Adhidaivik form and then all these places came on the earth in the Adhibhautik form. So, when Mulgomtiji descended from the eternal realm, she was born as a princesses to the local King. She said to her father that she wants to arrange her own marriage. Lord Dwarkanathji then suggested to her to come to Dwarka in the form of a river and she would then be able to merge with Lord Krishna in his form as an ocean. Hence, Mulgomti took a form of a river and remained here in the charnarvind of Shri Thakorji. Today, Mulgomta still exists in the Dwarka in the form of a river. Hence, this place is known as Mulgomta.”
The next day, a renunciate came to Shri Mahaprabhuji and said “Maharaj, I am from the southern area and a disciple of Shri Vishnuswami. After my whole family passed away, I took to the path of renunciation by everyday having the darshan of Shri Dwarkadhish and reading the Shrimad Bhagvat. Four times death came to take me, but with the grace of the Lord, I could avoid it. At last, Lord became pleased with my devotion and gave me darshan and asked me to ask for a boon. I asked a boon that I wanted to live in the foothills of Shri Girirajji and asked him to give me such a vision that I could always have the darshan of Shri Krishna’s Ballila. The Lord said that what I asked for was difficult to achieve. But, when Shri Mahaprabhuji comes here, he would fulfill my wish. Yesterday, the Lord indicated me about your arrival in a dream. Hence, I came here to you.”
Shri Mahaprabhuji replied, “Instead of being under the shelter of Shrimad Bhagvat, you were under the shelter of a materialistic world. Hence, the difficulties you have had in achieving your wish. Now, take a bath and I’ll initiate you.” Shri Mahaprabhuji then made the renunciate his sevak and performed the Shri Bhagavat Purana. Upon the completion of this, Shri Mahaprabhuji said, “On the third day from today, you will die and will take re-birth in the foothills of Shri Girirajji, where you will be known as Harji Gwal. My son Shri Vitthalnathji (Shri Gusaiji) will give you salvation.”
Even today near Jatipura in the foothills of Shri Girirajji in Vraj, there is Harji Kund in the memory of Harji Gwal.
From this incident, Shri Mahaprabhuji has shown us one of the nicest principals of PushtiMarg that God can be achieved by the person on whom God showers his grace.
In the major earthquake in 2001, the whole Baithakji was significantly damaged. With the help of Shri Harsaniji Trust and under the guidance of Tilkayat Shri Rakeshkumarji Maharaj (Nathdwara), the Baithakji was rebuilt.
