When Shri Mahaprabhuji came here with His sevakas, they stayed under a Peepal tree. Shri Mahaprabhuji explained the glory of this place to His sevakas by saying “There was ‘Yadvasthali’ (the battle between Yadvas) which happened here. After the end of Yadvasthali, Shri Balram took his original form and went to Golokdham. Lord Shri Krishna has also left his physical existence here in a place known as ‘Dehotsarg’. Hence, in such a glorious place, we will definitely do Shri Bhagavat Purana.”
Shri Somnath Mahadevji came daily to listen to the Shri Bhagavat Purana. At the end of each day, he back to his temple. There was a sevak of Shri Mahadevji, who only took his daily meal after Shri Mahadevji’s darshan. On the first day of the Shri Bhagavat Purana, that sevak could not do the darshan of Shri Mahadevji. He waited for three prahar. When Shri Mahadevji returned back to the temple, his sevak asked about his absence for the whole day. Shri Mahadevji replied, “Shri Mahaprabhuji is here, and I was there to listen to His Shri Bhagavat Purana.”
The sevak said, “I also want to do His darshan.” Shri Mahadevji said, “Go to the Dehotsarg place, where Shri Mahaprabhuji is staying. Do his darshan and take his shelter.” That sevak went to Shri Mahaprabhuji and requested to take him under his shelter. Shri Mahaprabhuji commanded him to take a bath, gave him Naam Mantra and Tulsi garland and made him a Vaishnav. After the end of the Shri Bhagavat Purana, Shri Mahaprabhuji did parikrama of panchtirth and gave salvation to the many lives who lived in the area.
