Mandrachal

There is no actual building for this Bethakji. So whilst Shri Mahaprabhuji was here and the narration of His visit is correct as below, there isn’t a physical place that the local Vaishavas have designated as a Beithak. This is therefore classed as a "Gupt" Baithak.

Mandrachal Parvat is located five miles from Kirtinagar and nine miles from Srinagar.

One of the best-known episodes in the Hindu philosophy narrated in the Shrimad Bhagavat Purana, in the Mahabharata and in the Vishnu Purana is that of “Samudra Manthan". This is when the gods and the demons churned the sea (Samudra Manthan) using Mandrachal Parvat as the churn and explains the origin of amrita, the nectar of immortality.

Shri Mahaprabhuji’s Baithak resides on this mountain. He came and stayed under the Chhokar’s tree where He had the darshan of Shri Madhusudanji’s Shri Thakorji living on this mountain.

Shri Mahaprabhuji started Shrimad Bhagavat Purana to which Shri Madhusudanji came every day to listen. Shri Mahaprabhuji made an assan for Shri Madhusudanji and requested him to sit on it. In this way, Shri Madhusudanji spent the next seven days listening to Shri Mahaprabhuji as He narrated the Shrimad Bhagavat Parayan.

Shri Mahaprabhuji also did the seva and shringhar for Shri Thakorji before moving on to Kedarnath.
