About Shri Harirai Mahaprabhuji
Shri Harirai Mahaprabhuji (1590-1710) was a significant spiritual leader in the Pushtimarg (Path of Grace) tradition of Hinduism, which was founded by his grandfather, Shri Vallabhacharyaji. He played a significant role in the propagation and consolidation of the Pushtimarg philosophy and practices.
Early life and background
Shri Hariraiji Mahaprabhuji was born in 1590 in the town of Shri Mad Gokul, Vraj to a devout Vaishnav family, deeply rooted in the traditions established by Shri Vallabhacharyaji. His father, Shri Gopinathji, was the second son of Shri Vallabhacharyaji, and his mother, Shri Mahalaxmiji, was also deeply religious. From an early age, Shri Hariraiji was immersed in the devotional practices and teachings of the Pushtimarg.
Spiritual journey and contributions
Shri Hariraiji was known for his profound devotion to Lord Krishna and his exceptional spiritual wisdom. At a young age, he showed deep interest and understanding of the scriptures and the teachings of his grandfather, Shri Vallabhacharyaji. He was particularly devoted to the form of Krishna known as Shrinathji. Under the guidance of his father, Shri Gopinathji, and later on his own, Shri Hariraiji travelled extensively, spreading the message of Pushtimarg. Shri Hariraiji is credited with composing the "Vallabh Sakhi." This is a collection of 100 verses dedicated to the teachings and philosophy of Shri Vallabhacharyaji.
