Sakhi number 1 (one)

Shri Hariraiji tells us that before you start any work, you must show deep respect and homage to Shri Vallabh by giving Him your salutation or reverent greeting. The reason for this is that only by doing this, you will gain pure knowledge, wisdom and success in your work.

A typical salutation or reverent greeting of Shri Vallabh would be to bow down in front of His picture and touch His feet.

The question often raised in your mind is why you should do that and how does it benefit you? It is human nature that you don’t do things unless you have experience of a personal benefit or gain. And if the benefit is guaranteed, then you are more likely to do it with speed.

In the second verse of this Sakhi, another reason given for showing respect and homage to Shri Vallabh is that your knowledge and work becomes polished and perfect. Not only that, but you will experience a nectar-like essence and bliss in your work.

The polished knowledge also refers to your understanding of the divine form of Shri Vallabh. You will feel a pure, sacred experience that nourishes your soul. This is why you will feel inner happiness, as if you have actually drunk the spiritual nectar.
